Learning and Development
We are committed to maintaining a professional and effective workforce that delivers a market leading service with unrivalled specialism in working with children and young people.

Following the initial training, all employees complete regular refresher training to ensure their knowledge and working practice remains up-to-date, responding to wider changes in legislation, best practice and evidence based practice improvements.

All our Children’s Homes employees will additionally complete an induction programme. These clearly set out the expectations of Homes2Inspire for individuals working with children and young people. These standards comprehensively observe and reinforce key themes delivered as part of the Initial Training Course and ensure the principles of best childcare practice are embedded from inception.

This induction programme is completed with line managers, alongside regular practice and performance reviews, to ensure individuals feel appropriately supported and understand the full requirements of an individual working with children and young people.

Safe and Sound

All staff also undergo a 4 day minimising physical intervention course, called Safe and Sound which is accredited by the British Institute of Learning Difficulties (BILD). For more information on Safe and Sound please download our leaflet.

Following this initial training we ensure all staff continue to receive the appropriate training and development opportunities to maintain the highest standards of childcare practice which responds to legislative and best practice frameworks, as well as individual aspirations and career goals.

Within our Children’s Homes we aim to ensure all our staff are qualified to QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care and are able to access a wide prospectus of training and development opportunities to support continued development. We are committed to developing the best people and a ‘grow your own’ philosophy which supports career progression and personal achievement.
